Water and how to read symbols

Water is almost always tied to feelings and the unconscious. On the Star card a woman pours water both into a pool and onto the ground, an image of generosity and healing. Temperance stands with one foot in water and one on land, joining depth of feeling and common sense.

A symbol is an invitation to ask a question, not a ready-made answer.

There is no need to memorize meanings like a dictionary. The same symbol can sound different depending on the card and on your situation. It is better to look and ask yourself: what is happening here, what do I feel, what catches my eye first?
